It is no longer news that the battle as to who becomes the General Secretary of NBA at the forthcoming NBA gets tensed and more interesting, more revelations come from individual lawyers themselves as to their preferred candidates. 

Thus, Meti M. Ukpeh, Esq.an astute Uyo based legal practitioner, public affairs analyst and a social crusader, did not hesitate to lend his voice to the issue.

In his words to correspondents of the SupremeLaw News, he said: "Aside Capacity that he (Demond Yamah) has, let's leave politics aside too, Yamah is more accessible and approachable, little wonder most lawyers nicknamed him "Gentle Yamah". Take a look at what he did, his trackrecord when he was Abuja Bar Chairman and you will be amazed...."

_DESMOND YAMAH is currently the Co-Chairman of the National Secretariat Restructuring Committee._

_DESMOND YAMAH has submitted his nomination form for the office of the General Secretary of the NBA, and he'll share his Manifesto as soon as the ban on campaign is lifted._

_As fmr Chairman of NBA Abuja, DESMOND YAMAH collaborated with the National Assembly to train over 300 young lawyers on legislative drafting and most of them work with the National Assembly now._ 

_DESMOND YAMAH was the first Chairman of Abuja to get a Secretariat outside the Court premises and relocated NBA Abuja Secretariat to Wuse Zone 4._ 

_DESMOND YAMAH started the Mass Housing Scheme for NBA Abuja under a Co-operative Society Scheme._

_DESMOND YAMAH is the only Chairman who got a land for the NBA Abuja for the Bar Centre after 38 years. The land of about 1Hectre is currently valued at over 2billion Naira._

_DESMOND YAMAH started the sponsorship of young lawyers to the International Bar Association Conference to give them International exposure._ 

_DESMOND YAMAH started the Ramadan Special Meals for Muslim Lawyers at our meetings  during the month of Ramadan on the advice of Al-Bashir Lawal Likko of NBA Abuja._

_DESMOND YAMAH  inaugurated the Annual Cocktail Dinner in honour of the Chief Justice of Nigeria._ 

_During his tenure, the CJN attended the two law dinner he organised for the first time in the history of NBA Abuja Branch._

_DESMOND YAMAH made prompt payments of marraige and death benefits to lawyers throughout his tenure._ 

Consequently, I know, just like others, that DESMOND YAMAH can replicate and do much more at the National level.
