NBA VOTERS MEET, 2022 ELECTION HELD ITS MAIDEN SESSION ON 8TH APRIL, 2022.

_The Forum nicknamed "ALL VOTERS CORNER" kickstarted its weekly (Fridays by 6pm) Session with both the offices of Publicity Secretary and Assistant Publicity Secretary.

Unekwu Samuel, Esq., Abuja Bar, became first session moderator, while Uchenna David, Esq., NBA Aba Branch, compiled the Resolutions of the House in print._

DELIBERATIONS/SESSION REGARDING THE OFFICE OF THE PUBLICITY SECRETARY AND THE ASSISTANT PUBLICITY SECRETARY OF THE NBA ON THE NBA VOTERS MEET 2022 ELECTION PLATFORM

APRIL 8, 2022

Section 5 (J) of the NBA Constitution 2015 (as amended); the duties of the Publicity Secretary shall be as follows: 

i. He/She shall ensure adequate and prompt publicity of the activities of the Association;

ii. He/She shall present a good and progressive image of the Association to the public;

iii. He/She shall issue cases and statements on matters of general

interest to the Association and the public after consultation with the

President or the National Executive Committee;

iv. He/She shall perform all other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President or the National Executive Committee or the AnnualGeneral Meeting.

Section 5 (k) of the NBA Constitution; the duties of the Assistant Publicity

Secretary shall be as follows:

 

i.                  

He/She shall assist

the Publicity Secretary in the performance of his/her duties and shall in the absence of the Publicity Secretary act in his/her place;

 

ii.                

He/She shall perform

all other duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President or the National

Executive Committee or the Annual General Meeting.

Following the above provisions of the NBA constitution for the office of the Publicity Secretary and the Assistant Publicity Secretary and the deliberations thereafter during the session of April 8, 2022 for the above offices, these resolutions were reached as follows:

1.)A good Publicity Secretary must be ready to ensure that he presents the good and progressive image of the Association at all times.

2.) The Publicity Secretary should always have a presence by interface with members, and should also be vibrant, outspoken, information and internet savvy, articulate by accurate representation of facts. etc

3)A good Publicity Secretary should always get ready to delegate duties to his Assistant. For instance, NBAConference registration, BPF Registration etc, should be delegated to his Assistant Publicity Secretary.

4)A good Publicity Secretary is expected to capture or generate public interest in the activities of the NBA and its members.

5.)An Assistant Publicity Secretary should be ready to take instructions from the Publicity Secretary.

6.)An Assistant Publicity Secretary should be willing to be innovative and creative to be active so long as such innovations do not run counter to the NBA constitution.

7.)An Assistant Publicity Secretary should also be outspoken, information and internet savvy, articulate by representation of facts correctly to aid his duties of assisting seamlessly the Publicity Secretary.
