With immense sense of humility, I write to grievingly register my condolences  on the passing of Mr. Desmond Ezeme, Esq., the immediate past chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Obollo Afor Branch. The news of his untimely departure has left all of us in the legal biosphere petrified

Truly, Mr. Ezeme was not only a renowned and  distinguished lawyer, but also a remarkable leader who dedicated his life to the service of justice and the rule of law. As Chairman of the Obollo Afor Branch, his leadership was characterized by a relentless commitment to the welfare of his colleagues, the promotion of legal ethics, and the advancement of the profession in our community. His vision and tireless efforts strengthened the branch and left an indelible legacy that posterity will be kind to him

Apparently, beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Ezeme was known for his kindness, humility, and the genuine care he showed to those around him. He was a mentor to many, always willing to offer guidance and support to younger colleagues. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him, both personally, professionally and the society at large. Indeed, we have lost a gem

In moments like this, our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all members of the Obollo Afor Branch. May you find comfort in the cherished memories you shared with him and in the knowledge that his contributions to the legal community have left an enduring mark.
